Our boubous vs the rest: what actually makes the difference

Boubous are everywhere. On Instagram, at markets, in online shops. That's a good thing — the boubou deserves to be everywhere.

But not all boubous are equal. Not in the cut, not in the fabric, not in what remains after ten wears.

What we do differently

Handmade in Bordeaux

Our boubous are sewn in small batches by partner seamstresses in Bordeaux. Not in large quantities, not on the other side of the world. Each piece passes through the hands of someone we know, in a workshop we can visit.

That changes something in the finishing. In the consistency of the stitching. In the drape.

Cuts made for today

The traditional boubou is long, loose, made for another moment. Ours is tailored for now: fluid straight cut, elasticated waist that adapts, a length that works with sandals as well as white sneakers.

We keep the spirit: the fluidity, the print, the presence. Without the costume.

A print that lasts

The cotton we use is chosen to hold over time. A boubou you wash often must stay sharp, the colours must hold. It's a simple standard, but it's where many pieces fall short.

Why it matters

The price shown on each product page is an indicative pre-launch price. It becomes a selling price only when a clear ordering framework is open and confirmed.

Our aim is simple: show what shapes that price — small batches, locally supervised cuts and checked finishes — without making durability claims that only pieces worn over time can prove.
